Petrie Intersection Upgrade
A new signalised T-intersection will replace the existing, congested roundabout at Anzac Avenue, Dayboro Road and Gympie Road.
The final design widens the Anzac Avenue and Gympie Road approaches to the intersection to increase capacity and improve traffic flow. The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has acquired commercial properties on the southbound side of the roundabout to accommodate the widened approaches.
The old Petrie roundabout has been removed and covered in asphalt as work progresses on new traffic signals at the Anzac Ave, Dayboro Rd and Gympie Rd intersection. State Member for Kurwongbah Shane King says the temporary pain for commuters, local residents and businesses will ease soon with the project so far on track to be completed early next year.
